πŸ’› Teaching My Little One to Talk About Big Feelings

As a mama, I’m learning that sometimes my little one has the feeling but doesn’t have the words for it yet.

That’s what inspired this simple Trace the Feeling worksheet. I wanted something more than just matching happy and sad faces β€” something that helps with actually naming the feeling and talking about why they feel that way.

We practice things like:

😊 β€œI feel happy.”
😒 β€œI feel sad.”
😠 β€œI feel mad.”
😟 β€œI feel worried.”
😣 β€œI feel frustrated.”

They can trace the feeling, pick how they feel today, draw what made them feel that way, and practice saying β€œI can use my words.”

It’s a small activity, but these are the little skills I want my child to have when those BIG feelings come up. πŸ’›

Because feelings are okay. We just have to learn how to talk about them.
