This 4th–5th grade ELA worksheet turns reading comprehension into a mini mystery. Students read a fictional group chat, separate facts from inferences, identify what information is still missing, and decide which character they believe based on evidence.
Then comes the good part: the text-evidence check. Students evaluate different claims and decide whether each one is supported by the conversation, unsupported, or possible but in need of more evidence.
Finally, students write the missing message that solves the mystery.
